Title: Call for Volunteers to Support Riding for the Disabled in Waterford

An appeal has been made in Waterford to support Riding for the Disabled Ireland (RDA Ireland), which offers weekly horse riding lessons for adults and children with disabilities. Gain Equine Nutrition, in collaboration with RDA Ireland, is seeking new volunteers to assist with these sessions, particularly during weekdays. Many current volunteers have dedicated decades to the organization, and the charity is eager to attract more individuals comfortable around horses.

At a recent garden party, RDA Ireland celebrated the contributions of nearly 400 volunteers, recognizing those who have served for 10 to 40 years. Dilys Lindsay, Secretary of RDA Ireland, emphasized the profound impact of horse riding on service users, noting improvements in communication, mood, and overall well-being. She encouraged companies to consider supporting the charity through employee volunteer programs or sponsorship initiatives.

RDA Ireland, established in 1969, operates 30 groups across Ireland, providing therapeutic riding and carriage driving sessions to over 380 individuals with disabilities. The organization highlights the benefits of these activities, including physical fitness, skill development, and socialization. Volunteers receive training and support, with no prior experience necessary, making it an accessible opportunity for those looking to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
