At the 2025 CDI Calgary, Canadian Grand Prix rider Brittney Simpson showcased her skills, competing on her horse Kartsevo Goldfinch. Despite being the sole competitor in the big tour, she achieved commendable scores of 65.848% in the Grand Prix and 65.192% in the Grand Prix Special. Simpson expressed satisfaction with her performance, noting significant growth in her partnership with her horse, and is looking forward to future competitions, including the CDI Sherwood.
The event also highlighted promising young talent in the Under 18 classes, with Gwendolyn Joinson making her CDI-Ch debut and scoring 67.125% in the Children Team Competition. Imogen Hawes excelled in the Junior division, securing three wins aboard Knights Cavollo Dolce, showcasing the potential of Western Canada’s youth in dressage.
Additionally, the CPEDI 2/3* marked a significant return of para-dressage to Western Canada, featuring athletes like Eleonore Elstone, who achieved impressive scores with her new horse Szecrecy HP. The competition fostered a supportive atmosphere, with participants expressing gratitude towards the organizers and sponsors, including the newly established Tilted Tiara Para dressage Travel Bursary, aimed at assisting athletes with travel expenses.
