The Annual Boissevain 4H Zone Rally is set to take place this Friday, bringing together 4H members from across southwest Manitoba to celebrate 89 years of the event. Participants will gather at the Boissevain Ag Grounds early in the morning, showcasing their stock trailers, Home and Hobby displays, and engaging in various activities. Victoria Nowazek, Head Leader of the Boissevain Home & Hobby Club, emphasizes the importance of this event for fostering connections among members and providing opportunities for alumni and the public to participate.
This year, all three Boissevain clubs—beef, equine, and Home & Hobby—will be represented, along with clubs from Goodlands, Deloraine, Reston, and Coulter. Notably, Killarney’s 4H Beef Club will make its debut. The event will feature workshops, cattle showcases, and a parade, followed by a musical ride performed by young equine members. Nowazek highlights the strength of 4H in the area and encourages community support for the members’ hard work throughout the year.
The day’s festivities will culminate in an awards program featuring guest speaker George Meggison from the University of Manitoba. The event is open to everyone, with no admission fee, inviting the community to enjoy the parade, horse shows, and various activities throughout the day. Nowazek expresses excitement for the gathering, emphasizing the fun and camaraderie that the rally brings to all participants.
