Title: "A Young Equestrian’s Journey: How 9-Year-Old Evelyn Found Her Perfect Horse Through Adoption"

Evelyn M., a 9-year-old horse enthusiast, found her perfect match in Miss Lady, a 20-year-old American Quarter Horse, during a visit to the Equine Affaire in Columbus. Although Evelyn’s family wasn’t actively searching for a horse at the time, they were drawn to Miss Lady’s calm demeanor and suitability for both Evelyn and her grandmother. This connection led to her adoption through the ASPCA’s Equine Transition and Adoption Center.

Evelyn has been around horses her entire life, starting with her first horse, Tumbleweed, a Shetland pony adopted by her grandmother. With a background in volunteering at horse rescues, Evelyn has developed her horsemanship skills through 4-H clubs and competitions, where she and Miss Lady recently earned a ribbon in their first show. Evelyn is committed to further bonding with Miss Lady and expanding their skills together.

Niki, Evelyn’s mother, emphasizes the importance of finding the right horse through adoption, encouraging potential owners to focus on temperament and compatibility rather than superficial traits like color or breed. She believes that many horse enthusiasts can find suitable companions through adoption, highlighting the benefits of equine partnerships in teaching responsibility and communication skills.
