At Glenda Spooner Farm in Yeovil, UK, a tiny Shetland foal named Pam has captured attention since her birth in July 2025 at the World Horse Welfare rescue and rehoming centre. Pam, barely the size of a spaniel, was born healthy to Sophie, a mare rescued in poor condition while heavily pregnant the previous summer.
Claire Dickie, the farm manager, notes that Pam is one of the smallest foals she has encountered. Thanks to months of dedicated care from the centre’s staff, both Sophie and Pam are now thriving. The Shetland breed’s characteristic hardiness and friendly nature are already evident in Pam’s behavior.
