Tiny pony Pickle, just 28 inches tall, makes a big impression after miraculous recovery at Penny Farm Rescue near Blackpool

Pickle is a tiny pony, just 28 inches tall, who was found in a critically poor condition near Blackpool, unable to stand and struggling to breathe. Diagnosed with multiple illnesses including strangles, equine flu, and salmonella, Pickle was rescued through a multi-agency effort and received intensive veterinary care. Despite his severe health challenges and repeated positive tests for salmonella, the dedicated team at Penny Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Lancashire successfully nursed him back to health.

Now a year old, Pickle has become a beloved attraction at Penny Farm, charming visitors with his small size and sweet nature. Although still very small, he enjoys playing with other ponies and has a bright future ahead, with many potential adopters expected once he is ready for rehoming. The rescue center, supported by partners like LeMieux who provided a specially sized headcollar, continues to care for Pickle as he enjoys a happy and secure life after his difficult start.
