Thorpedo Anna, the 2024 Horse of the Year and six-time Grade 1 winner, returned to training with a four-furlong breeze in 50.6 seconds at Saratoga, her first workout since winning the Grade 2 Fleur de Lis on June 28. Trained by Kenny McPeek, the 4-year-old Fast Anna filly is expected to race next in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign at Saratoga on August 23. Last year, she dominated with six wins in seven starts, including the Kentucky Oaks and Breeders’ Cup Distaff, and this year has added victories in the Azeri (G2) and Apple Blossom (G1).
Alongside Thorpedo Anna, six other graded stakes winners also worked Tuesday, including Exaulted, Masteroffoxhounds, Utah Beach, Full Moon Madness, Like the King, and Runaway Storm. These workouts ranged from four to five furlongs at various tracks, with times reflecting their current conditioning as they prepare for upcoming races. The article highlights the ongoing preparations of top thoroughbreds as the racing season progresses.
