The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) announced that 49 Thoroughbred aftercare organizations have been accredited for 2025, including 40 continuing and 9 newly accredited groups. This brings the TAA’s network to 87 organizations with around 180 facilities across North America. Accreditation signifies that these organizations meet rigorous standards in horse welfare, facility management, and adoption protocols, verified through thorough application reviews and facility inspections.
The newly accredited organizations exemplify high standards of care and professionalism, reflecting a strong commitment to retired racehorses’ well-being. Accredited groups are eligible for financial grants, with the TAA having awarded over $36 million since 2012 to support aftercare efforts. Applications for accreditation will reopen in January 2026, continuing the Alliance’s mission to uphold excellence in Thoroughbred aftercare.
