Thelma Mae Davidson, Beloved Horse Enthusiast and 4-H Leader, Passes Away at 96

Thelma Mae Davidson, aged 96, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Oscoda Township, Michigan. Born in Dearborn in 1929, she graduated from Eastern Michigan University and married Robert H. Davidson in 1952. Together, they raised their family in Novi and later moved to Waterloo Township, where they operated Cedar Haven Farm and shared a lifelong passion for horses, including a beloved zebra-donkey hybrid named “Stripes.” Thelma and Robert were deeply involved in 4-H for 65 years, serving as leaders and committee members. Besides her equestrian interests, Thelma enjoyed quilting and helped found the Alcona County Senior Center Quilting Group.

Known for her compassion and zest for life, Thelma was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her son Rick Davidson, son-in-law James Rendall, and three grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Robert Jr., and daughter Gayle, Thelma’s funeral service will be held on January 26, 2026, in Chelsea, Michigan. The family welcomes expressions of sympathy to be made to the Chelsea Fair in her memory.
