Thea Richardson, a member of the Horse and Pony 4-H Club, participates in showing horses and rabbits at the Newton County Fair. This year, she entered a horse, a rabbit, and created a poster about chickens. She enjoys 4-H for the fun and educational experiences it offers, especially riding horses and caring for her rabbit.
Preparing for the fair involves about a month of work, including cleaning and grooming her animals and packing up for the event. Thea won the costume class with her horse, dressing as a geisha girl with her dragon-themed outfit. She is the daughter of Celeste and Tom Richardson, lives in Morocco, and will be entering third grade at Morocco Elementary School.
