Dave Riley, known as the Real Pet Santa, brings holiday cheer to pets of all kinds—from dogs and horses to skunks, snakes, and even an emu—by taking festive photos with them and their owners to support animal rescues. Since 2022, Riley has partnered with Last Chance Ranch, an animal rescue in Richland Township, helping raise nearly $3,000 for the organization through his appearances. His journey began after a serious motorcycle accident nearly 25 years ago, which led him to develop a deep understanding and communication with animals, eventually inspiring him to foster, rescue, and create the Real Pet Santa persona.

Riley’s inclusive approach means no pet is turned away, regardless of size or species, emphasizing that every animal deserves a joyful holiday moment. His dedication extends beyond photo events, exemplified by personal visits to accommodate animals unable to travel. Joined by his former spouse who plays Mrs. Claus, Riley continues to spread joy and raise funds for animal welfare, with upcoming events benefiting Last Chance Ranch and Tails of Valor.
