The Dressage Foundation Awards $25,000 Carol Lavell Advanced Dressage Prize to Hannah Bressler Jaques and Genay Vaughn

The dressage Foundation has awarded its $25,000 Carol Lavell Advanced dressage Prize to two riders, Hannah Bressler Jaques of Florida and Genay Vaughn of California. This prize supports talented horse-and-rider teams aiming to excel at elite international dressage levels. Jaques will use the funds to continue training her Dutch Warmblood, Jim, with Olympians Ali Brock and Antonio Jose Diaz Porras, building on recent successes including reserve champion at the U.S. dressage Festival of Champions and a Lövsta Future Challenge Qualifier win. Vaughn plans to train with Kathleen Raine and Wolfram Wittig, targeting qualification for the 2026 FEI dressage World Cup Finals and World Championships with her horse Gino, having previously competed in the 2025 World Cup Final.

Named after Olympian Carol Lavell, the prize honors her legacy of dedication to dressage by providing financial support to promising riders. Since 2009, the fund has awarded 26 grants totaling $650,000 to advance U.S. high-performance dressage. Both recipients expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to further their training and compete at the highest levels while embodying Lavell’s passion and excellence in the sport.
