The Cat Lounge, opening soon in Mount Ephraim, is a unique facility combining a public cat lounge with a full-service cat rescue operated by the Community Cat Club. Visitors will enjoy a serene space to interact with free-roaming adoptable cats during reserved timeslots, while the facility also houses a neonatal kitten nursery equipped with incubators and oxygen concentrators, TNR recovery areas, and serves as the organization’s headquarters. Founded by Sarah Sharpe in 2020, the nonprofit has grown significantly, raising funds over five years to acquire and renovate the Black Horse Pike property without government aid, relying entirely on individual donors.
The Cat Lounge aims to provide a nurturing environment for cats that have been in foster care long-term, ensuring all animals are medically and behaviorally vetted and cared for by volunteers. The Community Cat Club focuses on reducing community cat overpopulation through TNR efforts, education, and hands-on support. As the lounge prepares to open, the team is finalizing details and encouraging community support through donations and volunteerism to sustain their mission of protecting and saving cats.
