The Big E Fair Returns to West Springfield Celebrating Food, Agriculture, and Local Artisans

The Big E, a renowned two-week fair held at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Massachusetts, celebrates food, music, agriculture, and local heritage, drawing thousands from across New England and beyond. The event features a vibrant mix of attractions including live animal exhibits, especially horses raised by 4H members, artisan wood carvings, and a variety of culinary delights such as the popular Maine baked potato and handmade lemonades. The fair fosters a strong sense of community among participants from multiple states and highlights local craftsmanship and agricultural traditions.

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll visited the fair on Massachusetts Day, emphasizing its significant economic impact and cultural importance. Local businesses like Rutto Bats and Ground Up Grain showcased their products, benefiting from the exposure and market opportunities the fair provides. The Big E, which attracted 1.6 million visitors last year, continues to be a major regional event that honors New England’s farming, industry, and artisanal heritage, running through September 28, 2025.
