The 155th Silver Spurs rodeo, a cherished Osceola County tradition for over 80 years, will take place this weekend in Kissimmee, showcasing seven classic rodeo events including bull riding and barrel racing. This event, which has been celebrated since 1944, highlights the region’s agricultural heritage and will be held at Osceola Heritage Park on May 30-31.
In addition to the thrilling competitions, the Silver Spurs Riding Club will honor military members by offering veterans and active duty personnel a complimentary meal with proof of service. Randy Booth, the rodeo‘s organizer, emphasized the importance of community support and the club’s commitment to giving back, particularly to those who have served the country.
The festivities will kick off with the Miss Silver Spurs Pageant on May 29, followed by the rodeo events starting at 7:30 p.m. on both nights. The event will also feature junior competitions, performances by the Silver Spurs Quadrille, and a kids’ mutton bustin’ contest. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit various charitable causes, including scholarships and military organizations.
