A Thai 10th-grade student, Thiraphat Ransavoranan, has gained attention for his unique daily commute to school—riding five kilometers on his stallion, Sunny. Unlike the common practice of students traveling by bicycle or moped, Thiraphat’s passion for horses led him to request and receive permission from his school to bring and keep his horse on campus. He has been riding since first grade and now owns two horses.
The school principal praised Thiraphat’s initiative, allowing the horse to stay on school grounds rather than being tied outside. This story highlights a personal passion intersecting with school life, while Thailand’s education system is also evolving, with plans from 2027 for high school students to choose subjects aligned with their future careers.
