A 16-year-old Thai boy named Teeraphat “Ten” Ransawaranon from Ang Thong province has gone viral for riding his horse, Sunny, to school at Wiset Chai Chan Tantiwitthayapoom School. Having loved horses since childhood, Ten transitioned from motorcycle to horse commuting about a month ago with the school director’s approval, who praised the initiative as part of the school’s soft power strategy. The school even provides a designated area for Ten to care for Sunny during breaks, highlighting the benefits of horse riding for skill development, school image, and students’ emotional well-being through hippotherapy.

Ten’s unique commute also serves as a source of income, as locals hire him and Sunny for ceremonies and events. Inspired by Ten, his friend Ratchapong plans to ride his own horse to school soon. This story echoes a similar viral event in 2022 where students in northern Thailand rode elephants to school, reflecting the cultural ties between local communities and their animals.
