Jason and Kisha Itkin of Houston have purchased the expansive TR9 Ranch near Weatherford, Texas, a premier property spanning over 800 acres known for its top-tier horse training and breeding facilities. Previously owned by Teton Ridge, the ranch was listed for $45 million and is equipped with elite amenities catering to Western equine disciplines like reining and cutting. The Itkins, who also own Theorem Ranch in Montana and recently acquired the high-value cutting horse Stevie Rey Von, see the TR9 Ranch as a strategic asset to grow Western performance sports and provide unique opportunities for horses, trainers, and riders.
The sale followed Teton Ridge’s dispersal of its valuable cutting horses, which fetched over $28 million in a single day, including the $5.6 million sale of Third Edge, a National Cutting Horse Association Horse of the Year and a relative of Stevie Rey Von. The TR9 Ranch includes a modern home, managers’ house, show barn, mare motel, and an indoor arena, positioning it as a key hub for Western horsemanship. The Itkins aim to link TR9 with their other properties to honor and expand the legacy of Western culture and ranching traditions.
