Tesco and Local Charity Provide Horse Riding Opportunities for Children in Dinefwr

Children and young people in Dinefwr are getting the chance to experience horse riding thanks to a grant from Tesco’s Stronger Starts scheme. The Dinefwr Riding Group received £1,500 to provide riding lessons for children of all ages and abilities, regardless of disability or disorder. The grant has allowed the charity to subsidize lessons for youngsters from all backgrounds.

The opportunity to learn how to ride a pony or horse was voted for by the community at nearby Tesco stores. The charity, founded in 1989, is located in the foothills of the Black Mountains and offers lessons to able-bodied children as well as those living with disabilities and disorders. The riding lessons are held every Wednesday during the school term time.

The Dinefwr Riding Group, with the support of Tesco, aims to provide positive experiences for people of all ages and abilities. Tesco’s Stronger Starts scheme, in partnership with Groundwork charity, supports community projects in Carmarthenshire and beyond. Shoppers can support local schools and children’s groups by dropping the Stronger Starts blue token received at Tesco checkout into the relevant voting box.
