In response, the animal rescue charity My Lovely Horse condemned the event as “lawlessness and cruelty” and is calling for the establishment of a dedicated Garda-led Animal Welfare Crime Unit, along with increased funding for rescues and modern, enforceable laws to protect animals and public safety.
