Swiss Olympic eventing rider Felix Vogg is making history as the first Swiss competitor at the Maryland 5-Star eventing competition, one of only seven such elite events worldwide and one of two in the U.S. Held at Fairhill, Maryland, this prestigious competition, often called the “Super Bowl of eventing,” features dressage, cross country, and show jumping disciplines. Vogg and his horse Catania are well-prepared for the challenging course, with Vogg expressing confidence in his horse’s toughness and suitability for the cross-country phase.
Vogg’s participation was made possible through an International Travel Grant provided by the event organizers, which helped offset the significant costs of traveling from Switzerland. The grant required applicants to submit detailed profiles and travel cost estimates, and without this financial support, Vogg stated he would not have been able to compete. The competition runs from Thursday to Sunday, beginning with the dressage phase.
