A husband-and-wife team in Swartz Creek, Matt and Ranae Bauserman, are expanding their animal rescue operation, Charlie’s Forever Farm, by building a new barn to better accommodate their rescued horses and donkeys. The couple is personally funding and constructing the barn, which has taken nine months to build, aiming to provide more space and improved facilities for the animals, including a new 1,800-pound horse named Baby.
Their mission extends beyond animal care, as the farm also serves the community by hosting therapy sessions and group visits, highlighting the therapeutic benefits of interacting with animals. The new barn marks a significant milestone for the farm’s growth and outreach, with a grand opening expected within the next couple of months. Interested supporters can sponsor a stall through the farm’s website.
