Sullivan County 4-H Fun Horse Show Kicks Off 145th Little World’s Fair in Grahamsville

The 145th annual Little World’s Fair in Grahamsville, NY, began with the Sullivan County 4-H Fun Horse Show, organized by the Diehl Us In 4-H Club of Callicoon. Under the guidance of Megan Diehl-Blumenthal of Diehl Me In Performance Horses, 20 young riders showcased their horsemanship through various skill-based activities like sit-a-buck, egg-and-spoon races, and musical poles. The fair, hosted by the Neversink Agricultural Society, has been a longstanding community event since 1878, celebrating local agriculture, crafts, and horses, except for interruptions in 1928 and 2020.

The event also highlights the role of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County Youth Development program, which supports youth growth through experiential learning and leadership development in 4-H, America’s largest youth organization. Diehl Me In Performance Horses focuses on nurturing equestrian skills for all ages, emphasizing the full potential of both riders and horses. The article lists the participating young riders and provides information on local 4-H clubs for those interested in community youth programs.
