Suffolk County Dressage Team Gears Up for Inter County Challenge at Bury Farm

The Suffolk County dressage Team is gearing up for the Inter County Challenge at Bury Farm Equestrian Village, where over 110 riders from the South and East British dressage region will compete. This grassroots event emphasizes teamwork, horsemanship, and local pride, featuring a diverse group of riders and horses. Suffolk’s team, managed by Nikki Goldup, prides itself on inclusivity, with riders from various backgrounds and youth participants, reflecting a broad mix rather than focusing on expensive horses.

The competition is both competitive and fun, highlighted by a costume parade on Saturday evening. Nearly 60 riders tried out for the team this year, making selection highly competitive. The team benefits from strong support and coaching from long-term mentors Ruth Hurst and Tammy Ruffles, who are helping the riders prepare to perform their best throughout the weekend.
