The Spring Festival Gala 2026, organized by China Media Group (CMG), is set to take place on February 16 in Beijing and four sub-venues—Yibin, Harbin, Hefei, and Yiwu—featuring a worldwide live broadcast. The gala’s theme, “Galloping Steed, Onward Unstoppable,” aligns with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) and symbolizes the nation’s dynamic progress and cultural vitality. This year’s official mascots are four majestic horses inspired by historic Chinese horse figures and Przewalski’s horse, representing strength, heritage, and ecological harmony.
The program offers a rich blend of traditional and contemporary performances, including popular songs, dance, and a new comedy talent show called Xiao You Xin Sheng, aimed at bridging generational gaps in humor. The gala, recognized by Guinness World Records as the most-watched annual TV program globally, will be streamed live on CCTV-1, CCTV’s official YouTube channel, Tencent Video, and iQIYI at 8:00 pm CST, with international air times provided for viewers worldwide.
