The South Oxfordshire Sponsored Ride, organized by the British Hounds Sports Association and supported by the Kimblewick Hunt, is a 12-mile countryside equestrian event starting and finishing near Watlington. The ride raises funds for various charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, the Riding for the Disabled Association, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution. Last year’s event attracted 350 participants and raised over £9,000.
The Kimblewick Hunt, which operates in compliance with the Hunting Act 2004 and focuses on trail hunting, will provide stewards for the day. The ride offers 50 optional fences for experienced riders, with all jumps optional to accommodate all skill levels. Entries for this popular charity event are now open.
