South East Mountain Rescue Conducts Two Weekend Helicopter Rescues in Galtee and Comeragh Mountains

South East Mountain Rescue (SEMRA), a voluntary non-profit affiliated with the Irish Mountain Rescue Association, is responsible for search and rescue operations in the mountains of southeastern Ireland. Over the weekend, SEMRA responded to two separate incidents involving walkers in distress in the Galtee and Comeragh mountain ranges.

These rescue calls occurred just ten minutes apart, with one incident requiring the evacuation of walkers by helicopter to safe ground, highlighting the ongoing risks faced by hikers in these areas and the vital role SEMRA plays in ensuring their safety.
