South Dakota State secured a 12-8 victory over Minnesota Crookston in an equestrian meet at the Charles H. Casey Equine arena, improving their overall record to 3-4 and 3-2 in ECAC play, while Minnesota Crookston fell to 0-4. The Jackrabbits dominated the reining events with a clean sweep, highlighted by Emma Riggs’ top score of 68.5 and Adisyn Kuxhaus earning Most Outstanding Performer honors. SDSU also took three of five points in horsemanship, led by Hailey Hanson’s 75-point ride.
Minnesota Crookston held the advantage in the jumping seat events, winning 3-2 in both fences and flat categories, but it wasn’t enough to overcome SDSU’s strengths. Notable Jackrabbit winners in jumping included Heidi White and Sierra Elliott, both named MOPs in their events. The Jackrabbits will next compete in a three-match homestand starting February 6 against TCU.
