The No. 2 South Carolina Equestrian team put forth a strong effort against No. 1 Georgia but ultimately fell 13-6 on the road. South Carolina won the Fences event 3-2, highlighted by sophomore Amira Kettaneh’s season-high ride and MOP honors, and junior Alexis Potts earned her first career MOP in Horsemanship with the highest score of the day. Despite competitive performances, Georgia edged South Carolina in Horsemanship and dominated the second half, winning the Flat and sweeping Reining 5-0.
South Carolina’s standout performers included Kettaneh, who swept MOP awards in Flat and Fences, and Potts, who earned her first MOP in Horsemanship. Newcomer Emily Patton debuted in Reining, while other riders set season highs. The Gamecocks will look to bounce back as they travel to face No. 9 UC Davis on October 24.
