The 6th annual “Luke Day” fundraiser took place at the Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue Center, encouraging community members to donate pet food, cleaning supplies, or cash. In return, participants received a complimentary pulled pork sandwich meal. The event was sponsored by NextHome Tristate Realty, which is represented by a mascot named Luke, a French terrier.

Katie Slater, the broker/owner of NextHome Tristate Realty, expressed a strong commitment to animal welfare, highlighting the need for homes for many dogs currently in the shelter. The event aimed to raise awareness and support for these animals, fostering a sense of community involvement in their care and adoption.

Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to have their adoption fees covered, further incentivizing participation and support for the shelter. Central Bank also contributed as a sponsor for the event, emphasizing the collaborative effort to help local animals in need.
