The 2025 Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1) at Saratoga has emerged as a pivotal prep race for the Nov. 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Del Mar, thanks to its ideal nine-week spacing. This year’s $1 million race features a highly competitive field, including the top four finishers from the Whitney Stakes (G1) and multiple Grade 1 winner Mindframe, trained by Todd Pletcher. Mindframe, who has bested favorite Sierra Leone in previous meetings, is coming off a strong winning streak and is expected to handle the 1 1/4-mile distance well.
