Shenae Lowings and her 15-year-old off-the-track Thoroughbred Bold Venture (Bentley) currently lead the CCI4*L event with an impressive score of 27.2, the only pair to break the 30-penalty barrier. Their performance was highly praised by all three judges, including a standout 9 for their extended walk from judge Angela Tucker. Bentley, purchased for just $1000 ten years ago, has been developed by Shenae through all levels and has competed on major international stages, including the 2022 FEI World Championships and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Close behind are Oliver Barrett with Sandhills Briar in second place on 31 penalties, and Andrew Cooper with Sharvalley Thunder in third on 31.6. Other top contenders include Sophia Hill, Jess Somerfield, and last year’s winners Sam Jeffree and Santoro, who are currently eighth. Shenae and Bentley’s potential Sydney CCI4*L victory would mark a significant milestone in their accomplished partnership.
