Four severely neglected ponies—Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, Wendy, and Mary Darling—were rescued from dire conditions in Kent by World Horse Welfare and are now receiving intensive care at the Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Snetterton. Tinker Bell, just six months old, was found “severely emaciated” and barely clinging to life due to early separation from her mother, malnutrition, and heavy parasite infestation. Despite urgent veterinary intervention, three other colts found with them were too sick to survive.

The ponies’ discovery came after a field officer alerted authorities to their critical state, leading to their removal and ongoing treatment. The charity’s director expressed amazement that the ponies survived such neglect, describing Tinker Bell as “almost a skeleton” beneath her coat. While the road to recovery will be long, the ponies are now under round-the-clock care and will eventually be allowed outside once they regain strength.
