Last week, several horses sustained severe injuries during races, necessitating the use of an “equine ambulance” to remove them from the track. The injured horses included Cr Hammer Down at Louisiana, Bali Amour at Mahoning, Sheriff Ronnie at Laurel (who also experienced pulmonary hemorrhage), T Deuces at Sunland, Rocket Science at Charles Town, and Big Effect at Oaklawn.

While the current conditions of these horses remain unknown, it is expected that many will be confirmed dead through ongoing FOIA reporting. Updates on new fatalities are tracked and available on a running list for 2026.
