A 38-year-old palomino horse named Jasmine, or “Jazzy,” was rescued in Alpine after being down and unable to get up for an extended period. The San Diego Humane Society’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called to assist, using specialized equipment and expertise to safely stabilize and lift the senior horse.
This rescue was particularly meaningful as Jasmine was owned by a recently deceased ERT member, making the mission both a rescue and a tribute. Thanks to the team’s efforts, Jasmine is now up and recovering comfortably. The ERT is specially trained for complex large animal rescues, often working in challenging conditions to save animals in distress.
