Senior Horse Rescued in Alpine by San Diego Humane Society Emergency Team

A 38-year-old palomino horse named Jasmine, affectionately called “Jazzy,” was rescued in Alpine by the San Diego Humane Society’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) after she had gone down and was unable to get up on her own. Due to her advanced age and the time she spent down, the rescue required specialized equipment and expertise to safely stabilize and lift her.

The rescue held special significance for the ERT, as Jasmine was owned by a recently deceased team member. The successful operation not only saved the senior horse but also honored the memory of their late colleague. Jasmine is now reported to be up and recovering comfortably, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the ERT, who are trained to handle complex large animal rescues.
