The Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular, set for June 11-14, 2026 in Beaudesert, is the Southern Hemisphere’s richest and most prestigious Clydesdale horse event, now expanded to a four-day festival celebrating the breed’s vital role in Queensland’s agricultural history. Alongside the towering Clydesdales, new attractions include miniature Highland cattle and donkeys, with highlights such as the inaugural Clydesdale Spectacular Cup Race Day, traditional Scottish cultural elements, and a tribute menu by Chef Josh Lopez. The event also features competitions like the Australian Clydesdale Championship “The Thistle,” heavy athletics, rare trades demonstrations, and draws thousands of visitors, boosting local tourism and community spirit.
Organisers encourage attendees to embrace the event’s Scottish heritage with kilts, bagpipes, and culinary treats like haggis burgers and whisky. The festival offers a rich sensory experience with activities including the World Billy Boiling and Queensland Whip Cracking Championships, alongside blacksmithing and wheelwrighting displays. Supported by the Queensland Government, the event continues to honor the 130-year legacy of Clydesdales in the region, celebrating their historical importance and ongoing cultural significance.
