The 100 Kaimanawa Wild Horses – 100 Day Project aims to rescue, gentle, and rehome 100 Kaimanawa horses facing the risk of slaughter without intervention. Led by Kelly Wilson, the initiative is based in Taupō and seeks to give these horses a future through donations and support from the public.
Donations will support the feed and care of the horses during stockpiling, training and rehabilitation by volunteer trainers, subsidies for owners for veterinary care, and facility maintenance. Every dollar directly impacts a horse’s future, with different sponsorship levels available to help cover the costs of caring for these wild horses.
This project offers a rare opportunity to save and rehabilitate 100 horses in just 100 days. By contributing to this cause, individuals can be part of something life-changing for both the horses and the community as a whole.
