Saratoga Springs Police Department Rescues Horse from Icy Pond

The Saratoga Springs Police Department responded to a call on February 24th about a horse named Sly that had fallen through the ice into a nearby pond. The owner of the horse immediately called for help from police, fire, neighbors, friends, and family to save Sly from drowning. Officers Kyle Clinton, Kris Camarro, and Dom Martuscello, along with good Samaritans, were able to rescue Sly from the icy water and get him to safety.

After being rescued, Sly was taken to Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga for observation and recovery. The police department, fire department, and a team of good Samaritans worked together to save the horse from drowning. The owner’s quick actions and the teamwork of everyone involved led to a successful rescue operation.

The Saratoga Springs Police Department shared the story on their Facebook page, warning viewers that the video of the rescue may be difficult to watch. Despite the challenging situation, Sly was successfully rescued and received the care he needed to recover from the incident.
