Sarah Mai Groth, 47, of North Freedom, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2025. Born in Madison and a 1996 graduate of Baraboo High School, Sarah was raised on her grandparents’ farm, where she developed a deep love for animals, especially horses. She excelled in 4H activities, earning numerous trophies and becoming the Grand Champion Judge at the 1997 State 4H Horse Show. Sarah also enjoyed deer hunting, farming with her cousins, and was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. Known for her kindness and culinary skills, she cherished cooking family recipes during the holidays.

Sarah is survived by her parents, Sherry and Tom Kertzman; her partner, Brandon Murphy, and his children and granddaughter; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Mabel Groth. A Celebration of Life will be held in spring or summer 2026.
