Santa Anita’s “Ship & Win” program, aimed at attracting out-of-state horses, will return for the Autumn Meeting from September 26 to October 26, featuring increased purses and a robust stakes schedule including seven Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” races. Eligible horses that made at least one start at the Del Mar Summer Meet and no other starts elsewhere will receive purse bonuses—50% for dirt races and 40% for turf races—applicable for one start only, excluding stakes races. New horses making their first California start at Santa Anita will also get a guaranteed $4,000 bonus.

Since its launch, the program has successfully boosted Southern California’s racing stock year-round, highlighted by horses like Public Assembly, who transitioned from the East Coast and earned significant wins and bonuses at Santa Anita. Santa Anita’s Director of Racing, Jason Egan, emphasized the program’s role in attracting quality horses to the region, supported by excellent weather and facilities, making it a premier destination for turf racing.
