A lone yachtsman suffering from seasickness became lost and ran aground on rocks near Ness Point off the Suffolk coast. The Lowestoft RNLI lifeboat crew was called out early Monday morning and successfully rescued the sailor from his 10-meter yacht, which was stuck with its keel wedged in rocks close to Hamilton Dock.
The sailor had departed from the River Orwell near Felixstowe two days earlier, aiming for north Norfolk but lost his way. After being pulled to safety by the lifeboat crew, he was taken to the lifeboat station where police and Coastguard teams met him. Fortunately, he sustained no physical injuries but was very wet from the ordeal.
