Russian Drone Strike Kills Seven Horses at Kyiv Equestrian Club Amid Wider Assault

A Russian drone strike on the night of September 7 hit the Endurance Horse Sport Club near Kyiv, killing seven horses and damaging stables and pastures, according to local officials. Several of the horses were preparing for the upcoming Ukrainian Championship, while two survived. The blast severely damaged the stable building, with doors and windows blown out, and was part of a larger Russian assault involving 823 drones and missiles across Ukraine, most of which were intercepted by air defenses.

The attack also caused collateral damage in Kyiv, where drone debris ignited a government building and damaged residential high-rises, resulting in three deaths—including a baby and the child’s mother—and injuring at least 20 others. Ukrainian officials described the strike on the equestrian club as possibly targeting a military objective amid the broader offensive.
