Rokstone Agriculture, a managing general underwriter (MGU) specializing in agriculture and livestock, has launched a new equine mortality insurance product across 19 U.S. states, backed by $1 million in admitted capacity from Professional Solutions Insurance Company (PSIC). This expansion marks a significant growth from their existing livestock coverage, with the new product led by Alexandra Choumitsky, an experienced equine underwriter specializing in sport horses and thoroughbreds. The offering is accessible via Rokstone’s digital quote and bind platform, enabling brokers to place business quickly and tailor solutions to individual horse owners.
A key differentiator for Rokstone’s equine product is that all claims will be managed by Aventum’s in-house third-party administrator, Verus Claims Management, led by Nicole Pidcoe, who brings over 15 years of equine insurance claims expertise. This claims service offers 24/7 support and fast settlements, enhancing broker and client experience in a competitive market. CEO Eric Conklin emphasized the company’s commitment to protecting horse owners’ investments through specialized underwriting, strong carrier partnerships, and advanced technology for efficient transactions.
