RNLI Troon Rescues Paddleboarder in Difficulty off Ardrossan Coast

On Sunday, August 17, volunteer crews from the RNLI in Troon conducted multiple rescue operations off the Ayrshire coast. After responding to a report of a missing five-year-old at Irvine beach, which was quickly resolved when the child was found safe, the crew later launched a search for a paddleboarder reportedly in difficulty near Horse Island, Ardrossan. Although no one was found there, they soon received another alert about a paddleboarder struggling off Ardrossan South Beach.

The RNLI Troon team, already nearby, promptly located and assisted the paddleboarder back to shore, where the individual was handed over to the Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team. The lifeboat crew then returned to station, ready for further service. This busy day highlighted the vital role of RNLI volunteers in ensuring safety along the Firth of Clyde coastline.
