Ripley students in grades two to six participated in an engaging eight-week Horse Club program at Centaur Stride, where they learned about horse care, communication, and responsibilities. The group of 15 students rotated through various stations, journaling their experiences and enjoying hands-on activities, including riding lessons and ground horsemanship skills like grooming. The program aimed to foster self-confidence and teamwork among the participants.
Holly Reslink, the director of programming at Centaur Stride, expressed her satisfaction with the students’ progress and enthusiasm throughout the program. Parents also praised the structured approach, noting that each week built on previous lessons, making the experience both educational and interactive. The program not only focused on horsemanship but also aimed to instill a sense of pride and accomplishment in the students.
Centaur Stride co-founder Claudia Monroe highlighted the facility’s commitment to providing equine therapy for individuals of all abilities. The Horse Club is part of a broader initiative to enhance educational services through cooperative agreements with local schools. Monroe emphasized the success of past programs and the positive impact they have had on students, reinforcing the value of equine-assisted learning.
