Richard A. Biven, Sr., aged 79, of Horse Cave, Kentucky, passed away on November 15, 2025, surrounded by his wife Nancy and their three sons. Born in Louisville in 1946, Richard was a devoted family man who valued faith and community. He moved to Horse Cave in 1977 to open Biven’s IGA grocery store and was active in local organizations like the Caverna Jaycees and Booster Club. He later retired from Walmart as an over-the-road truck driver.

Richard is survived by his wife Nancy, whom he had dated since her early teens, their three sons, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother and siblings. Funeral services will be held on November 18, 2025, at Our Lady of the Caves Catholic Church, with visitation the day before and the morning of the service. The family requests donations in Richard’s memory be made to the church or the TJ Samson Hospice Program.
