Rhiannon Sets Course Record with Career-Best 95 BSF at Belmont; Mischief Lady and Sunday Girl Show Promising Form

CHP Racing’s Rhiannon, a 5-year-old Medaglia d’Oro mare trained by Chad Brown, set a new course record at Belmont Park with a nine-furlong optional-claimer win in 1:45.60, earning a career-best 95 Beyer Speed Figure. After a stop-start career due to minor setbacks, Rhiannon impressed with a commanding four-length victory and is being considered for the Grade 1 Dunkin’ Diana at Saratoga. Co-owner Phil Hatfield praised her talent and elegance, highlighting the patient training approach that has allowed her to return stronger each time.

Meanwhile, Mischief Lady, a New York-bred Honest Mischief filly trained by Edward Barker, won the $150,000 Cupecoy’s Joy sprint on a sloppy track, marking her second win of the year with a career-best 73 Beyer Speed Figure. Trainer Barker plans to keep her sprinting against 3-year-olds, favoring shorter distances. Additionally, Sunday Girl, a consistent 4-year-old Central Banker filly, aims to make her turf debut in the $125,000 John Hettinger at Belmont, while Wizard Stables’ Walk With Me rebounded with a neck victory in a nine-furlong allowance, earning a career-best 70 Beyer and targeting a second-level allowance next.
