These enhancements have revitalized the Lake Placid Horse Show Association, which faced declining participation last year. Currently, there is a waiting list of hundreds of horses for the upcoming shows, indicating a remarkable turnaround in interest.
The modernization efforts have allowed the shows to achieve FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) rating, enhancing their appeal and competitiveness. The association’s chairman, Philip Richter, credits the successful project to favorable weather, a dedicated team, and a strong partnership with the town of North Elba, which has also made small improvements to the facilities.
Looking ahead, the horse show association plans further enhancements, including upgrades to the VIP lounge and spectator areas, while exploring additional funding sources. These developments align with North Elba’s broader strategy to optimize its facilities for various sports, benefiting local businesses and the community as a whole.
