Christine Ross, a resident at The Potteries care home, enjoyed a special visit to East Holton Driving Centre where she met and cared for two working horses, David and William. The visit included feeding, brushing, cuddling, and sharing tea, cake, and carrots, fulfilling a wish connected to her lifelong love of horses, which began in her 20s when she owned a farm and worked at a riding school for the disabled.
This outing was part of The Potteries’ Wishing Tree initiative, designed to help residents reconnect with past hobbies or careers to support their wellbeing. Zita Turner, the home manager, emphasized the home’s commitment to meaningful activities, highlighting the range of care services they provide, including residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care.
